Player of the Month: Jimmy

He's been on the cusp of winning for most of the season but he's finally bagged top spot. Our Player of the Month for March/April is Jimmy.

March/April was a broadly positive affair as we banged in 21 goals in four matches, winning three before a classic end of season performance resulted in a poor loss.

The player vote reflected our two most consistent performers but it was also good to see some nominations head in other directions.

Abdul was recognised for his big improvement in form this season, as well as a stunning long range hit in the final game. Chris scored four in a game and would likely have picked up more votes had he not been absent for a couple of games through injury/watching Arsenal lose.

In second place was Duncan. His calm performances at centre back throughout the season have been backed up with several goals in recent weeks and he has been one of our most consistent guys over the past two years.

However, it was Jimmy who picked up top slot. Jimmy joined the club towards the end of last season and his impressive first appearance at training saw him go straight into the team. He's stepped up in responsibility this season, captaining the team on a number of occasions and becoming the workhorse of the side in the middle of the park. Add to that a bullet header against Stonewall and a cracking drive against Titans, and we have our man of the month.

Some of the reasons given from the boys:

"Midfield engine and positive influence"

"He's been at the root of loads of goals and weighed in with a few good ones himself"

"Scored twice and runs further than anyone else"

"Not bad for a ginge"
