It was another tight contest but the Falcons boys have awarded February Player of the Month to Alex.
A few words from the boss…
"We had another long break in February to contemplate what had gone wrong in the defeat to Titans Two Brewers at the end of January. What was encouraging was the willingness of all involved to take responsibility and aim to work harder. Every single player upped their work rate in both February games and this paid off with a good turnaround against Phoenix and a terrific battle against Romans which could very easily have seen us come away with maximum points.
"We had a new addition to the squad for the two games. Jimmy made an immediate impact on the right at an important time for us as injuries began to stack up. He's obviously made a strong impression as he picked up second place in the vote.
"We finally got our first clean sheet of the season against Romans and a terrific defensive display was reflected in votes too for Brady, Andrew and Conal.
"However, the winner for February was Alex. I'm really pleased he won this month. Alex is a terrific footballer but I did give him a bit of stick in January for not delivering what I think he's capable of achieving. In the two games in Feb he worked his socks off in midfield, covering more ground than anyone, scoring a beauty against Phoenix and very nearly claiming a win against Romans in the final minute.
"We've got just four games to go this season and I hope everyone keeps up the hard work. Well done to all involved."
