Up Against a Stonewall

Stonewall edged out Falcons at Barn Elms as two wonder strikes handed the hosts a 2-1 victory in the London Unity League.

Falcons welcomed back Jaime for his first appearance in three months among a 16 man squad.

The first half featured few chances but went into the break 1-0 up after a fantastic strike Matt in the forward position. Falcons, much like the previous week, started as the stronger side in the second half and grabbed a deserved equaliser when a fine team goal ended with Augustin finishing from 15 yards.

Stonewall rebounded, though, and it was another super strke from Matt that gave them the lead for the second time and three points by 90 minutes.

This was the second close defeat in a row for the LUL team. Frustrating as the past few results have been, there is a positive mood around the camp and, with training on the horizon and new faces arriving on a regular basis, there's much to look forward to in the final few fixtures of the season.
