2021/22 Player Profiles - Duncan

Jet-setter Duncan joined us this Spring from Sydney, and not since Kylie dropped her seminal 1988 debut “I Should Be So Lucky” has an Australian arrival on these shores been so well recieved.

Hailing originally from slightly cooler climes (read as Guildford), Duncan has slotted seamlessly into both the Falcons’ front line and social sphere, scoring and necking shots in equal measure. His commitment on the pitch was shown in last year’s league semi-final, where he was left bloodied and bandaged following an aerial collision, but this crack to his shell has not stopped resident egghead Duncan from regular attendance at Falcons’ pub quiz outings. Despite having a penchant for life’s luxuries (he’s a man known to live for a pitcher of Pimms), Duncan is not exclusively about the glamorous lifestyle, which is handy for him, as he has the lifelong affliction of being a Sheffield Wednesday fan.

Name: Duncan Jones

Age - 33

Preferred Position – Striker

Favourite Player – Kasper schmeichel (purely professional…)

First game for Falcons – 3-1 win against Surbiton

1) Why did you join the Falcons?

After moving to London I wanted to play some good football and meet some good people. Heard the falcons had both so decided to pop on down.

2) What’s your best memory of the Falcons on the pitch?

The post-covid run of results seeing us come back from the brink and make it to the finals for the season.

3) What’s been your best memory of the Falcons off the pitch?

Nothing prepared me for the Falcons commitment to winning a quiz. If you’re ever in the same pub; I apologise in advance.

4) Who’s your most annoying teammate?

Any of them who are under 30 and who remind me that I’m not.

5) Why should someone join the Falcons?

If you’re looking for competitive football with a welcoming bunch of social guys, it’s an excellent club to join.
