Falcons fall to first league defeat
The Falcons suffered their first league defeat of the season as they were undone by two quick early second half goals on Tooting Bec Common. Falcons XI: Matt; Ed S, Pete, George, Jeff, Kieran; Jimmy, Myles, Joe; Will, Rob. Subs: Abdul, Steff, Matt D Man of the Match: Rob Goals: Jeff
The Falcons came into the game with a 100% record from their first four matches, and started brightly. Their hard work was rewarded on the edge of half time, when Pete’s corner bobbled around the Imperial box before falling to Jeff, who drilled home from the edge of the area for his first Falcons goal. However, the home side made a lethargic start to the second half, for which they were made to pay. Two sucker punch strikes in quick succession turned the tables and despite late rallies, the Falcons conceded a late third goal to make it 3-1 at full time. But we go again, and look to get back to winning ways against London Olympia next week! If you fancy joining the squad, why not come down to training at Kennington Park, where we meet every Tuesday night at 7:45pm! We play league matches on Saturday afternoons, which means Soccer Special and drinks in the pub afterwards!
